The minimum requirements to the loan business of the credit institutes (MaK), imported from the Federal Institution for supervision of financial service (BaFin), applied since 30 June 2004 to all credit institutes in Germany. The adjustments within the IT-range, necessary in this connection, were to be converted in a second stage by 31 December 2005.
A goal of the MaK was it to limit the risks of the credit institutes from the loan business.
The MaK was replaced with circulars of the BaFin of 18.12.2005 by the minimum requirements to the risk management (MaRisk).
