Development of the SCHUFA

The SCHUFA determines not even data. Contracting parties of the SCHUFA must supply data over their customers to the Schufa. For this a consent of the customer is necessary. The data partly originate also from public sources (debtor listings of the district courts).

If a consent is present, the SCHUFA apart from name, stores date of birth, present and earlier addresses data over admission and stipulated completion of business relations (positive characteristics) and data over non-contractual behavior and judicial vollstreckungsmassnahmen (negative characteristics from the business relation). Data from public sources (how. e.g. District courts) can be used without consent of the customer.

Business partner of the SCHUFA, dissemination of data, self-information and Scoring

The business partners of the Schufa are divided into three categories:

  • A-contracting parties (credit card enterprises, credit institutes and leasing companies), receive positive and negative characteristics.
  • B-contracting party (non-banks: Which grant achievements and supplies against credit) negative characteristics receive trade, Versandhandel, E-Commerce, telecommunications and other enterprises. The SCHUFA furnishes beyond that for other enterprises, in particular insurance, which can prove a justified interest, services for the risk price increase and customer service.

Since the Score value changes relatively frequently and is not stored, it is not received in the regular self-information. The determination of a current Scores can be requested however with the self-information.
